In March 2000 a door-to-door distribution service was set up to deliver a new Island free publication - the Isle of Wight Property Weekly. This publication was a wholly owned subsidiary of the UK’s second largest leading publisher, Newsquest who is based in Southampton.
The publication was launched in May and each week 40,000 copies were delivered door-to-door in the main Island urban areas of population. The publication was A3-56 page format.

Due to the demand of the leading advertisers, the Property Agents, the distribution was increased to 46,000 in July 2001. This was further extended to 52,000 in September 2001 as Island retail, motoring and employment advertisers realised the potential of getting their product message into so many Island homes. The publication grew further with limited editorial content making it more interesting. In addition a further 5,000 copies were delivered to participating Property Agents, Garages, Newsagents and Retail Outlets, as bulk drops.

In December 2002 Newsquest ceased publication of the Isle of Wight Property Weekly. The door-to-door distribution service run by ILS was retained to continue delivering national and local leaflet contracts that had been built up in the previous two years to run alongside the former publication.

media DISTRIBUTION has maintained the majority of its traditional Supervisor-Distributor network and has the direct support of Newsquest Direct (formally RLS) to distribute all their national mainland leaflet contracts on the Isle of Wight.

Newsquest Direct is the largest single supplier of regional leaflet media through door-to-door distribution in the UK. By tapping into our distribution we can reach up to 25 million mainland residential and commercial letterboxes each week. Newsquest Direct is the direct marketing wing of Newsquest Media Group. media DISTRIBUTION is now recognised as the leading media distribution outlet on the Isle of Wight.
